Training Programs Emergency Skills, Inc. offers a variety of classes for corporations or individuals in the New York City metropolitan area. Since 1977, we train thousands of corporate employees each and every year. ESI is an American Heart Association (AHA) Multi-Regional Training Center and all of our programs are in compliance with the AHA International Guidelines. All of our instructors are certified AHA CPR Instructors, thoroughly trained by the Emergency Skills, Inc. Instructor Trainer Staff. At each program, every course participant receives the appropriate American Heart Association textbook.
Upon request, Emergency Skills, Inc. will prepare a proposal for you based upon your training needs. Please contact us for more information. It is important to note that we strictly follow the student: instructor ratio required by the American Heart Association.
Heartsaver AED The Heartsaver AED program is a vital component of our turnkey AED program which includes equipment sales, medical authorization, training and maintenance. Having the Philips Heartstart AED equipment and Heartsaver AED training are critical elements for a total emergency response plan at your company. ESI specializes in implementing AED programs at businesses and we train more corporate employees in the Heartsaver AED program than any other training center in New York City. Upon successful completion of our courses, your staff will feel confident in their ability to respond to the most life-threatening emergency - a cardiac arrest. This course is designed to allow for significant practice time on your AED with a CPR manikin. Our specially trained instructors help students understand each task to achieve the best response time and to promote confidence in using the AED. This course also includes adult CPR training, choking, pocket mask ventilation and hands-on practice with your AED. Pediatric CPR and/or ALIVE! First Aid may be added to this program.
In the Heartsaver CPR Certification Program, students learn to respond confidently to cardiac, respiratory, and choking emergencies. This is an excellent program for the emergency response team at a business that does not own an AED. The hands-on skills you will learn are rescue breathing, CPR, pocket mask ventilation and the Heimlich Maneuver. This program meets the requirements of the American Council on Exercise (ACE)
Participants learn to respond confidently to cardiac, respiratory, and choking emergency until medical help arrives. This program is an ideal part of your employee benefit package. The hands-on skills you will learn are rescue breathing, CPR, and the Heimlich Maneuver. This program may be taught as adult only, pediatric only, or combined adult and pediatric.
This course combines American Heart Association Adult CPR and ALIVE! First Aid. It is the ultimate in emergency response. This course is designed for the first responders within your company including corporate security and the employee emergency response team. This program may be presented as a certification course or a participation program. Certification Program
Recognized by OSHA, the Emergency Skills, Inc. proprietary first aid program is designed to meet the needs of the client. The course minimally includes bleeding, burns, shock, and diabetic and asthmatic emergencies, fractures, sprains, strains, seizures and convulsions. Based upon your needs and frequency of different types of emergencies, ESI will recommend a course length. As the course length increases, practice time increases. Additionally, the instructor will discuss emergencies specific to your worksite. For example, at a printing press, we will discuss and practice, the special needs of a hand injury. The 7 hour Premium course includes OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen training.
This course covers response to Pediatric emergencies. This course combines AHA Pediatric CPR training and Basic First Aid for pediatric emergencies. Program may be presented as certification program or a participation program. Certification program is approved by the New York City Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care. Certification Program
